Sodium stearate is a white or light-yellow powder, soluble in warm water. It is used in self-leveling floor compounds to minimize air entrainment and create a smooth, glossy surface. As an anionic surfactant, it binds calcium ions into insoluble calcium stearate, enhancing system density. It is also employed in soap and detergent production.
